How to use the Accessibility Checker
Define the complete route being screened, the drawing revision and the selected England or US federal source context; collect clear opening, corridor and ramp dimensions from coordinated information.
The workspace starts blank. Load example temporarily fills the controls with demonstration data; reload or use the tool’s New or reset action, where provided, before entering live information.
- Choose Jurisdiction / source and Units, then enter a Route reference and Evidence reference.
- Enter door clear width and the applicable approach, corridor width and passing context, plus ramp rise, going and width where relevant.
- Review the dimensional trace and margin for each item rather than treating the overall screen as one pass or fail.
- Set each non-dimensional review item to Confirmed, Action required, Not applicable or Not reviewed and add an evidence reference.

Check before saving or issuing

- Every Not reviewed or Action required item has an owner or evidence route outside the tool.
Common problems
- A door unexpectedly fails: confirm the measured clear opening and selected approach condition.
- Ramp result is misleading: check that rise and going use the same unit system and cover the full sloping run.
- All dimensions pass but the route is not accessible: review the omitted spatial, sensory, operational and local-code requirements.
